Atlanta St. Patrick’s Parade returns to midtown on March 11

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The popular Atlanta St. Patrick’s Parade returns to the streets of Midtown on Saturday, bringing with it a massive celebration for all ages to celebrate Irish culture and history.

Participation in the parade is not just an “Irish thing.” The parade attracts individuals and groups from around the city and the South including clowns, floats, bands, Bagpipe & Drum Corps, children, dancers, drill teams, and more.

It was started in 1858 by the Hibernian Benevolent Society and holds the title as the longest-running event in Atlanta history.

The parade will step off at noon at the intersection of Peachtree Street and 15th Street and will continue down Peachtree to 5th Street.

The emphasis is on children and families in celebration of all of Atlanta’s diverse backgrounds on a day when “everybody is Irish.”

The parade is presented by Irish Network Atlanta.
